Summary: Act 3 Scen​e 2

TIME: Night

PLACE: Capulets House

CHARACTERS: Juliet, Nurse

Juliet was waiting for Romeo to come but the Nurse has some bad news; She said both Tybalt and Romeo has disappeared; She also says that Romeo is the one that did the murder, now Juliet has doubts about who Romeo really is.

QUOTE: “Give me my Romeo, and when I shall die, take him and cut him and cut him out in little stars” Said by Juliet, meaning when she dies, Romeo will die too.

Summary: Act 3 Scene 1

PLACE: A Public Area

TIME:

CHARACTERS: Benvolio, Mercutio, Tybalt, Romeo, Lady Capulet, Prince, Officer, Montague

Now that Romeo and Juliet are married, Tybalt acts nice to Romeo as they are cousins. Mercutio battles Tybalt but fails, then Romeo attacks in vengeance for him, and becomes the victor of the fight.

QUOTE:”Ask for me tomorrow and you shall find me a grave man” Said by Mercutio, tomorrow he will be dead

Scene 5 Summary: In this scene, Juliet was waiting for the Nurse to bring a message from Romeo, It told her to meet him in Friars cell.

Scene 6 Summary: Romeo and Juliet have their wedding and are now husband and wife, some people thought their marriage wouldn’t last long.

QUOTE: “These violent delights have violent ends” Said by the priest of their wedding, meaning he has doubt that the marriage will last for a long period of time.

PLACE:Friar Lawrence’s Cell

TIME: Monday Morning

CHARACTERS: Romeo, Friar Lawrence

Romeo went to Friar’s cell to talk to him about his upcoming wedding with Juliet.

QUOTE: “Two such opposed kings encamp them still” Said by Friar Lawrence, also a “Soliloquy” meaning two completely different people that are in conflict with one another will never stop due to them having different up-bringing therefor them having such different opinions.

Summary: Act 2 Scene 2

PLACE: Outside Capulet Mansion

TIME: Sunday Night

CHARACTERS: Romeo, Juliet, Nurse

Romeo and Juliet were discussing about having a wedding, and Juliet was impatient and wanted it within’ the next coming day, even though they have spoken less than 100 words.

QUOTE: “Deny thy father and refuse thy name” Said by Juliet, and means she would do anything to be with Romeo

Summary: Act 1 Scene 5

PLACE: Capulets Mansion

TIME: Sunday Night

CHARACTERS: Romeo, Juliet, Nurse, Capulet, Cousin Capulet, Benvolio, Serving men

Romeo and his friends go and attend Capulets party and the moment Romeo lays his eyes on Juliet, he instantly falls in-love. Tybalt finds out that Romeo and his friends are at the party and urged to slay them but Capulet doesn’t allow him to do so.

QUOTE: “My only love sprung from my only hate!” Said by Juliet, meaning she has a love for Romeo, but he is the son of their greatest enemy

Paragraph: Metaphor​e

In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare uses a lot of different language features, one of these are metaphors. Metaphors are used to describe something by using another meaning.

In this play, Lady Capulet tries to convince Juliet to become a mother with Paris and describes him as a book to be read by Juliet. “This precious book of love, this unbound lover, to beauty him only lacks a cover”

What Lady Capulet was saying is there are many benefits towards marrying Paris and she is the “cover” to him as he is the book.

Romeo, Benvolio and Mercutio were discussing Romeo’s dream about his death and the cause of his fate is by him and his friends going to the party Capulet is hosting.

QUOTE: “Some consequence, yet hanging in the stars” Said by Benvolio; This means there are consequences waiting to happen

Summary: Act 1 Scene 3

PLACE: Capulets mansion

TIME: Sunday Afternoon

CHARACTERS: Juliet, Nurse, Lady Capulet, Servingman

Lady Capulet and the Nurse were talking about Juliet becoming a wife with Paris, Juliet did not like the idea but Lady Capulet and the Nurse were desperate to see Juliet being married.

QUOTE: “It’s an honour that I dream not of” Said by Juliet and means that she doesn’t feel ready do be a wife and have kids at the moment.

Summary: Act 1 Scene 2

PLACE: Streets

TIME: Afternoon

CHARACTERS: Capulet, Benvolio, Romeo, Paris, Clown


Capulet and Paris argue about Juliet becoming a mother with Paris. Benvolio and Romeo were also arguing about how he loves someone that doesn’t love him back. Romeo and Benvolio then come across a servant that struggles with reading and handed them a note with a list of people that will be attending the party that Capulet is hosting.

QUOTE: “My child is yet a stranger to the world” Said by Capulet, This means that Juliet is young and doesn’t yet understand what the world holds.
